The Idea

This blog is made to introduce the Lebanese language to the foreign people and also a good reference for foreign and local people.
Since even that Lebanon is a small country you can find a lot of accents and words that are only used in specific regions.
I had the honor to meet in my life many people who are interested in learning Lebanese and I hope I manage to make a good reference for who wants to come to Lebanon and got friendly with the locals, cause when you visit a country and manage to use some of their words it would be a bit funny how you pronounce the words, but also a good material of communication.
And for the Lebanese we all notice that we enjoy using accents that are not familiar in a certain regions and that are spoken on daily basis in other regions.

Also to some words I will try to introduce the history of the word and this can be a very educative opportunity.
Surfing over the web I managed to find meanings for some words that goes back to the Phoenicians, and many of the Lebanese words goes back to that time since they are our original ancestors.

I hope this would be very useful for you, but also hope that you would help us much by sending emails with words that you wish to add to this blog so we make our library bigger and as accurate as possible.

هذه المدونة هدفها تعريف غير اللبنانيين على لغتنا، وأيضا أن تكون مرجع للأجانب واللبنانيين لتوضيح معاني الكلمات المحكيّة

رغم أن لبنان هو بلد صغير يمكن أن نجد العديد من اللكنات والكلمات التي نسمعها في بعض المناطق وتبقى غريبة عن مناطق أخرى.

لقد حصل لي شرف لقاء العديد من الناس المهتكين بالتعرف على اللغة اللبنانية، فآمل أن نؤمّن ما يكفي ليمكن الأجانب من استعمال كلمات لبنانيّة عند زيارتهم لبلدنا فذلك سيقربهم أكثرمن اللبنانيّين.

كما أنّه من الممتع والمفيد للبنانيين التعرف على اللهجات المختلفة، ونلاحظ أصلا فرحة اللبناني عن استخدامه لكلمات مختلفة عن اللتي كان قد اكتسبها منذ الطفولة.

كما أن العديد من الكلمات اللبنانيّة هي كلمات قديمة جدّا تصل جذورها لأجدادنا الفينيقيين، فآمل أن أتمكن من توضيح تاريخ وجذور بعض الكلمات.

أتمنى  أن يكون هذا المشروع مفيدا لكم، وأيضا آمل أن تساهموا وتساعدوا من خلال ارسال لنا كلمات ومعانيها، أو حتّى لتصحيح ما قد ورد أصلا، وذلك عبر الاتصال من خلال البريد الالكتروني........... لنتمكن من جمع العدد الاكبر من الكلمات والدقّة بمعانيها.
